Build 18.1 + General Update

Alright... that didn't take long! Turns out there were a few bugs and typos left in the game, but we should've patched them all out with this new build.

Build 18.1 fixes a few typos and bugs, including:

  • The android app previously not showing the correct icon on the user's phone;
  • Some new custom names not working in the Prologue when Mary asks you for a New Name;
  • A few typos in the new Chapter 13.

I'll use this opportunity to share a bit of an update on my personal life. Sadly, I made a mistake while preparing for that exam I was studying for, and couldn't take it as a result. The brunt of the work has already been done, but now I'll need to review for this exam as well, in addition to studying from scratch for another one I wanna take this year. Two big exams in three months are certainly possible, though it does leave little space to work on Chapter 14. Ideally, I'd like to release a final update before the end of the year, but don't count on it too much. Needless to say, the chapter will only be released if I find the time to work on it with the level of quality and effort you've come to expect from this novel so far.

Another thing you should know is we're going to restructure the Patreon/Ko-Fi to make donating to the game easier and more accessible. They were originally structured in multiple tiers this way because I originally had delusions of grandeur regarding VN writing as a job, which reality has shown to be quite misplaced. VN writing should be a passion first and only, not a primary means of making money. So we'll be dispatching all tiers sans one, the lowest, which will allow those who donate to access every benefit previously afforded to the higher tiers. This will allow the vastest amount of people possible to donate to the game and give feedback on new content as it's being developed.

If you're reading this and you're already subscribed to a Patreon (mine or someone else's), you should also know if you didn't already that Patreon's changing the way your monthly subscriptions are handled. Before, regardless of when you subscribed to someone's Patreon, the company would charge every subscriber at the end of the month, which made for a somewhat consistent source of income. Now, you'll be charged once when you subscribe, and then every 30 days or so after that, staggering time between donations for the creator which could put them in a precarious spot in life. If you're planning on sticking with Patreon, consider resetting your donations so they start at the latest in the month possible, but do discuss this with the creator first just in case.

Regardless, I cannot thank everyone who donated to the project so far enough. Your contributions to the project cannot be understated, and I hope you'll stick around in the years to come. I'm glad everyone's enjoyed the new build as much as they have, and that they're still looking forward to more from this story. I hope to keep working on No More Future until its natural conclusion. I'll see you at the end of the month, for the first regular update on the progress of the game! (Or I'll try to make them regular, anyway TwT)

See you!
